Personal Statement:

It is my pleasure to be Advisor to the Board having served as a member of the Board of Trustees for several years, served as co-chair of the Funding Committee and was Treasurer.  You may recall that somel years ago I joined with other Trustees to form the Concerned Trustees to restore sound governance to the Academy.  Curently, I serve on non-profit boards including the Alliance for Peacebuilding (which I chair) which is made up of 106 organizations including many of the world's most impactful organizations involved in conflict prevention and post-conflict reconciliation, and I am a distinguished fellow of The Stimson Center, a think tank where I lead a program concerned with fostering far more productive and mature relationships with the world's new majority...countries neither very poor nor very wealthy.  I am also a fellow of the Royal Africa Society and a member of the Bretton Woods Committee.  I look forward to a World Academy that further engages the interest of all Fellows and is making active contributions to international public policy.
